Creation of The Dunes Collection
I spend a lot of time walking in the Omanu dunes, in Mount Maunganui. I'm fascinated by how seasonal transitions and times of day affect the look and feel of the beach foliage.
I've been inspired by amazing artists including Matisse and Pierre Bonnard.
I've also been working on including space in my new work. I find it easier to sketch/conceptualise with watercolour, as it dries quickly and I work with a large, soft brush which prevents me from going into too much detail.
I have also been working with a large, soft brush and acrylic for thick application of paint and am really loving the results.
