This artwork shows the rich layers of history within Mount Maunganui. The traditional kiwi bach represents days gone by, as most baches are now gone or tucked in amongst high rises. The glass recycling tub sits in the foreground, setting the painting in this decade. Mauao remains in the background, unchanging. These three elements are positioned to evoke a feeling of nostalgia.
This is an original, painted with watercolour on 300gsm cotton archival watercolour stock. Framed in a black frame with matt board.
